[XD FILMS] of the week - VOLUME 1

[XD FILMS] of the week - VOLUME 1

Nothing beats sitting back and watching a great film.

We've curated 3 films you should watch right after reading this post. (We promise you won't regret it)

1. Chungking Express

Flawless tale of brief encounters and abstract moments. Far superior to most of Hong Kong's bullet-ridden action fests, Chungking Express takes you on an emotional journey of love, loss, and chance excursions. Cinematography and editing are groundbreaking as this drama unfolds soap-opera-like stories without all the overacting and melodrama. Wong Kar-Wei has sealed his place in cinematic history with this tour de force.

2. Fallen Angels

With amazing direction by Wong Kar-wai and a film flooding to the brim with emotional pull and humanity, Fallen Angels is another great film in his repertoire. Shot with many effects and filming styles, the film literally portrays a moving city and those in it in such a surreal and exciting way. With the many references to Wong Kar-wai's Chungking Express, this makes a wonderful companion piece to that film but thoroughly remains its own distinctively original story arc and characters.

3. Good Will Hunting

Good Will Hunting is a beautifully filmed movie with striking scenery, and it is directed wonderfully by Van Sant. The music is never obtrusive but never too low-key either, while the story is interesting and compelling and the script is intelligently written.

If you've seen any of these movies, let us know your thoughts below! (or you can tell us after you finish watching them)

And don't forget... live life YOUR way, the xD way!
